This House was probably erected in 1895 and has a number of prominent Architectural features including an unusual hexagonal Turret surmounting the front Verandah, and marble Fireplaces in its interior. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 17 August 1984. Zorgwyk House, 36 Breda Street, Gardens. The house, built in a predominantly Georgian idiom, was originally the Homestead of the loan Farm Zorgwyk. It was probably built before 1820 and is one of the last original surviving homesteads in the Upper Table Valley. It was declared a National Monument under old NMC legislation on 15 March 1985.
