The National Coordinating Committee for the Repatriation of South African Exiles (NCCR) was dissolved due to fraud and corruption amounting to substantial amounts of money. South African Council of Churches (SACC) Secretary-General, Dr Frank Chikane, says the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) will take over the reception of exiles in South Africa. He added that a criminal investigation and a commission of inquiry have been instituted to examine the disappearance of the money. The names of those who will be implicated will be handed over to the South African Police (SAP).
