Dr. James Sebe Moroka, medical doctor, politician, and great-grandson of Chief Moroka I of the Barolong Boo Moroka in Thaba Nchu the then district of Bophuthatswana, now part of the Free State died in his village of Ratlou. He was an active member of the African National Congress and in 1949 he became its president until 1952.
