Wiseman Khuzwayo, reporter for the Durban Daily News surrendered to police after he heard they were looking for him. Khuzwayo brought with him a lawyer who asked the police to note that he was fully fit as per a medical examination. He was released on Feb 22 1978.     Eight days later, the security police arrested 28 black journalists and 1 white photographer during demonstrations in protest against the detention without trial of at least 7 black journalists. The journalists arrested included; Mike Ndlazi of the Rand Daily Mail and Barry Levy reporter of the Sunday Express. They were charged with protesting (under the Riotous Assemblies Act) and were released the next day on bail of R50 each.
