Tennis champion Frew Mcmillan is born in Springs

On 20 May 1942, Frew McMillan, doubles player with Bob Hewitt and Wimbledon tennis champion, was born in Springs. On his own, McMillan also won two pro single titles, and with mixed doubles partner Betty Stove he took the mixed Wimbledon title in 1978 and 1981, and the US Open title in 1977 and 1978.
