A memorandum of understanding between RSA and Malaysia
The Defence ministers of South Africa and Malaysia, Joe Modise and D S H Alban respectively, signed a memorandum of understanding on military co-operation in Pretoria between the two countries. The memorandum paved the way for the purchase of South African Rooivalk attack helicopters by the Malaysian government.
