Mac Maharaj announced that he will be retiring at the end of April 2015. He was president Zuma's former special advisor and spokeperson to Jacob Zuma. He was former Special Envoy and former Cabinet Minister in South Africa's first democratic administration, he retired at the age of 80 years old in April 2015.
