Joseph Engenas Matlhakanye Lekganyane, leader of the St Engenas Zion Christian Church (the Dove) with support in rural areas, dies in Warmberg, Pietersburg district. Upon the death of Engenas, the founder of the ZCC, the struggle between Edward and Joseph for church leadership led to a split in the ZCC.
