9 December 1995
South African heavyweight boxer, Francois (Frans) Botha, nickamed the "White Buffalo," secured a victory in a split decision against Germany's Axel Schulz to win the International Boxing FederationWorld Heavyweight Championship. Previous to the fight, the representatives of the two boxers, the president of  IBF/USBA and the representative of the German Boxing Federation, had signed a document entitled "Rules for IBF/USBA & Intercontinental Championship Bouts" ("Bout Rules"), which included an anti doping rule. Subsequent to Botha's victory, his urine specimen was sent to a German laboratory where it tested positive for anabolic steroids.
