Eight British tourists, five men and three women, were killed on their way to the Royal Natal National Park when their bus swerved to avoid a pedestrian on the R74 between Harrismith and Bergville and crashed. The male pedestrian was also killed while several other foreign tourists, the SA driver and a tour guide were injured.
