This topic examines transport, in all its forms, namely; land, water and air. It looks at the earliest to the most modern forms of transport.

The focus in the classroom should be on how transport has changed people’s lives over time. Transport has made it possible for us to travel to different destinations and has made transporting of goods easier. As a result we are able to get a variety of products that are not available in the areas in which we live.e.g we can now taste fruits and produce from other countries. We can also visit family and friends who live far from our towns or areas. Modern transportation has made the world a smaller place.

The impact transport has had on the environment is also included in this topic. Note, however, that it is not listed as a requirement in the CAPS document.
