The African National Congress congratulates South African tennis stars Amanda Coetzer and Wayne Ferreira on their winning of the Hopman Cup.
The two are thoroughly deserving of this prestigious accolade. Their win is indicative of their extraordinary determination and commitment to South African tennis in particular and sport in general.
They also continue to serve as role models for millions of South African children.
This team was entrusted with the hopes and aspirations of all South Africans to return with the first international tennis honours of the millennium. They did not fail us.
