16 November, Billy Nair is given a given a state funeral in Durban, a testament to the esteem he was held in as a fighter for liberation.

16 December, Nadarasen 'Kukri' Appavoo was honoured by the House of Traditional Leaders for his role in the underground struggle. His son, Dr Daya Appavoo, received a scroll on his behalf at Kidds Beach, East London.
