George Hugo obtained a National Diploma in graphic design and photography at Planet Pixl Brand Communication School, Bloemfontein in 2005. From 2006 he worked as Exhibition Officer at Oliewenhuis Art Museum, Bloemfontein. He held this position until December 2007 before relocating to Cape Town. In 2008 George started working as freelance photographer, graphic designer and photographic assistant. He has since created a number of photo series and completed assignments for local and international publications. From August 2009 he has also been lecturing at The Cape Town School of Photography. His work has been selected for various national photographic competitions and art awards including Sasol New Signatures, Sanlam Vuleka and Fujifilm Professional Photographic Awards.
