Welcome
On 8 January 1978 Richard Turner was shot dead through a window of his suburban Durban home. He was a passionate lecturer pioneering the teaching of radical political philosophy and an advisor to the National Union of South African Students (NUSAS). Turner encouraged political activism by whites in the aftermath of the 1969 departure of Blacks from NUSAS. The South African History Online, an NGO organization, together with the Turner family have compiled a special website (the Richard Turner Website) in commemoration of the life of this remarkable visionary, academic, political activist and philosopher.
