Dr Yusuf Dadoo and Dr Gagathura (Monty) Mohambry Naicker were charged with contravening Section 20 (r) of Act No. 22 of 1913, the Immigrants Regulations Act. They were accused of wrongfully and unlawfully aiding or abetting certain Asiatic persons in entering the province of Transvaal from Natal, knowing that the said persons were prohibited in terms of Section 4 (a), read with the Minister's Minutes of the 1st August, 1913, from entering. They were sentenced to six months hard labour each.
